Julian Briggs is keen to apply his IT and software development expertise to the transition to a sustainable society and to mitigating climate change.  His lifelong concern for global environmental and sustainability issues stems from reading Limits to Growth (early 1970s). He has over 25 years experience in IT management and software development: Head Technical Support, (academic) Department of Computer Science, (not CICS Corporate Information and Computing Services) University of  Sheffield then building Carbon Footprinting tools as Senior Software Developer at Stockholm Environment Institute, University of York. He has BSc Ecology (Lancaster 1978) , MSc Computing (Sheffield Hallam 1989) and MSc Climate Change (UEA 2007).  He enjoys ceilidh dancing, hill-walking, mindfulness, running.
