Dr. Alexander Shukhobodskiy has primary expertise in applied mathematics and is dedicated to advancing renewable and sustainable energy solutions. He earned his PhD from the University of Sheffield, where his research focused on Solar Physics. Then he joined Leeds Beckett University as Researcher in Renewable Energy. There he performed technical, teaching and management duties. During that time, he became co-creator of the successfully implemented RED WoLF Hybrid Energy Storage System. The system combines PV panels, electrochemical storage, thermal storage, electrical heating systems and is aimed at reducing CO2, making Alexander expertise in multiple areas of electrical systems. Only a handful of similar systems were tried at the time, resulting in the creation of a pioneering approach in the field and international recognition of such designs.

In November 2023, Alexander re-joined the University of Sheffield as an Energy System Research Associate, aiming to participate deeply in cutting-edge research that explores and enhances energy systems infrastructure. His role involves delving into the complexities of energy dynamics, applying his analytical skills to contribute valuable insights to the field. He also holds a role as a Renewable Energy Modeller at Advanced Infrastructure. Driven by a passion for sustainable energy and a keen interest in interdisciplinary research, Alexander Shukhobodskiy stands as a dedicated professional contributing to the collective efforts aimed at creating a greener and more sustainable future. Currently his work involves contributing to the Smart Meter Energy Data Repository as well as Trustworthy AI.
