Dr Helen Holmes is a Social Science Research Associate currently working on the EPSRC funded Solar Energy for Future Societies interdisciplinary project.

Having completed a Geography BA at Durham University in 2002, Helen carved out a career in marketing working for Yell PLC and the Co-operative Bank. However, in 2005 she returned to academia, to complete a Masters in Human Geography Research and following that an ESRC funded PhD.

Helen’s key interests lie in the role of everyday practice, consumption and material culture.  In her current role as an ‘embedded ethnographer’ she is exploring interdisciplinary practice and is effectively ‘researching the researchers’.
