Lisa Clark speaks at Eco Fair

Manager of the Sheffield Solar project, Dr Lisa Clark, visited the fabulous Eco-Fair at Leeds United last week.  The show was well attended by both delegates and exhibitors.

Lisa gave a talk about PV generation in the UK, specifically commenting on the differences in technologies, scientific data from the Sheffield Solar Farm and the use of particular solar modules.  “It is important to consider what an owner wants from their solar panels”, Lisa said. “If weight is an issue (for example on a distribution centre roof), then thin-film technologies are good.  If the owner wants to maximise financial return, then highly efficient panels are best”.  But Lisa advises not to chose efficiency above other factors as a rule.

The Sheffield Solar farm comprises many different technologies of solar module in Sheffield and interest parties are encouraged to visit the Farm to see the differences for themselves.
